Just another day…right?

This week has been a trying one….and it’s not even half over! I have made real progress on my ammo creations. I am currently looking for well-priced cuff links, tie tacks and button blanks to create some items for men to add to my shop (or at least those women that buy their men presents!)

But, while that is going good and progressing like I want, I had my first package lost in the mail. The tracking followed it as far as Jacksonville and then it fell of the truck (probably literally!) Dealing with the postal service is a hassle and complete government run-around at best (I’ve called no less than 3-4 different locations/numbers) and get a different answer each time. All I can think that happened is it encountered the snow storm that blew thru the east last week and a hurried postman/woman dropped it or it got shoved behind something (a necklace envelope is approx 5″x5″)

And….just when I needed a vacation, my day job decides to remove some holidays (Memorial and Labor Day) from our vacation calendar, as well as taking away a week of vacation! Totally need a do-over for this week…

Hope everyone else is having a much better January….maybe this just means the end of the year will go out in good fortune and occurrences….right??

About shadedlinescreations

I have been interested in the arts for longer than I can remember. I can’t dance, I can’t sing….so that just left creating something tangible and aesthetically pleasing. Having a bachelor’s in graphic communications, I’ve worked as a graphic designer or creative director for the past 10 years. I have now decided to branch out and embrace 3D design…something in college I completely didn’t understand and hated going to the class! However, rather than covering chairs in crayons or fabricating statues out of cardboard, I have chosen to create items that can be used and treasured for years to come. Each tile, coaster or piece that you see in the gallery or on my etsy store has been customized, and can even feature your own personal images if you so desire. So look around, get some ideas and let me take them to the next level by actually making them for you!

Thanks for the comment on my blog– you’ll be seeing lots of wedding crafts, so check back! I just had to comment on this post though– I started an Etsy business back in November and I had one package lost as well– the Etsy buyer opened a case on me (before coming to me to get it resolved!), and I of course sent her another package, but you are so right, the Post Office is a P.I.T.A! (Pain in the a$$!)– they were no help at all! Ughhhhhh Glad yours worked out as well, but I know, it’s a pain to have to take a loss on your inventory because of the Post Office.

    • I will definitely be checking back on your blog! My sister is getting married, so I’m trying to look for various ideas she might like 🙂 I made everything for my wedding and it made such a difference and I want hers to be the same way 🙂 I’m so sorry about your Etsy experience! Thankfully, my customer was understanding and waited for the 2nd package (the first one never showed back up). But the post office just had me fill out forms, which I’m sure ended up in the circular filing system! Good luck with your Etsy shop 🙂 I will have to find you on there!
